The U-290( ) is a cable mounted plug, with 12 fixed, solder socket (female) terminals and features a special environmental strain relief adapter body. Typical application is on the [Antenna End] of matching unit power and control cables. Mates with U-288( )/U.
The connectors in this category are a series of quick connect/disconnect, medium power [environment resisting] plugs and receptacles as specified in MIL-C-55243(EL). The connectors are intermateable on a specific basis (see below), and feature water tight, polarized, bayonet coupling connector bodies and 12 fixed solder (pin and socket) terminals.
